From product selection to a print-ready order
In print and promotional-product stores, the product price is only part of the order. Printing methods, quantities, setup fees and artwork positions affect both the cost and the work required after purchase. We developed Printing Cost Manager as an iKetch product to bring those decisions into the WooCommerce ordering journey, helping customers specify their needs and giving the team a more complete order.
The challenge: flexible pricing without a complicated purchase
The extension needed to support different printing price models while keeping the choices understandable. It also had to distinguish product quantity from the number of items to be printed, attach artwork to the order and keep costs consistent between the product page and cart. For operations teams, approval and production status needed to remain connected to the order itself.
The solution: pricing rules connected to order choices
We built a management layer for printing methods, product and category assignments, setup fees and per-item prices. Pro extends this with quantity tiers, print options, price modifiers and separate print areas. Customers can see the cost as they configure the product, order it without printing or specify a partial printing quantity where the store allows it. The order retains the selections the team needs to fulfil the work.
Artwork and approval within the workflow
We added artwork uploads with protected storage, followed by design approval and production-job tools in the paid edition. Pricing details, working files and fulfilment stages can therefore remain associated with the order rather than spread across separate channels. Printing-method import and export also make configuration easier to transfer and reuse.
Working with the store and its tax display
Entered prices follow the store’s WooCommerce setting for tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive price entry, with guidance beside the pricing controls. The extension integrates with iKetch Tax Display Toggle so visible printing charges follow the visitor’s tax-view preference. We reviewed the interface with popular themes and free Elementor, including Arabic and right-to-left layouts.
The result: clearer information for pricing and fulfilment
The delivered extension brings pricing configuration, customer selections and artwork into one ordering process, with Pro tools for post-purchase operations. The project demonstrates how we turn a specialised operational requirement into a WooCommerce product, with Free and Pro editions and Freemius integration for paid licensing and updates.
